My mechanic just did this "reset" as step #1 to correcting a rich running status with an associated general reduction of power and dodgey throttle response. His method was to turn the key to position 2 and depress the gas pedal fully and release 5 times. This cleared the code and apparently allows the car to "relearn" optimal throttle response.

1) Rare cases the rack was damaged (very rare) 2) Pre 2006 cars suffered with sticky steering (BMW revised the grease and worm gear clearance) Mines late 2007. 3) Ball joints, Couplings, EPS issues. So like with all things you start with the cheaper options first I ended up fitting new wishbones, lollypops already powerflexed.

Mike, The radiator fan is controlled by a theromstat which detects the coolant temperature and as it rises above a pre set limit the fan will cut in to reduce the temperature. Sounds like either the thermostat is defective or the temperature sensor. Diagnostic check should identify the fault code.
7.a engine stalling when RPM is low. b. resolved by getting RPM higher. c.warranty. 8. a.front driver side shock absorber blown. b. unsoved. 9. a. rear link arm was bent and soem sensor bracket was broken without any sign of a damage. ( I am not sure about the names of the parts.
Then remove the screw at the back, it will be obvious which one it is. 3- Then remove the 4 little screws at the front of the panel. 4- Then remove the side screws (one on each side) it won't come off without breaking unless you Remove them as I very nearly found out.
by Otto ยป Wed Sep 23, 2009 4:15 pm. Mine is another case of notchy and binding steer when a Z4 gets hot. Bought a pretty red '05 Z4 2.5 w/ 40k miles from Lithia VW in June. Car was out of manufacturer's warranty, but Lithia sold it with their own 60 day/3000 mile backing. Within the first week I realized the steering was not right.
